The Best Trails in Tyler State Park

Lakeshore Trail

  • Elevation gain: 49 feet 
  • Difficulty: Moderate 


The Lakeshore Trail is a two mile loop around Tyler State Park Lake. The trail is well-shaded thanks to the towering pines that hug the shore, making this trail popular for hiking and fishing.

Tyler State Park C & D Loop Trail

  • Length: 3.3 miles 
  • Elevation gain: 354 feet 
  • Difficulty: Moderate 


The C & D Loop Trail starts at the northern tip of Tyler State Park Lake before taking you deep into the cool shade of tall trees and lush forest. This trail is popular for hiking, birdwatching, and mountain biking, so be sure to share the trail and leave no trace.

Whispering Pines Nature Trail 

  • Length: 1.3 miles 
  • Elevation gain: 121 feet 
  • Difficulty: Easy 


This trail can be easy to miss since it’s set apart from the main cluster of trails by the lake. Whispering Pines starts near the entrance of the park and is generally less trafficked than the other trails in the park. This quiet trail passes by a small waterfall, making Whispering Pines Nature Trail a great place for a peaceful moment of solitude.

Tyler State Park Lake
